This is a summary of benefits and not a substitute for the Southern California IBEW-NECA Retiree Health Plan Summary Plan Description, and to the extent it differs from the SPD, the terms of the SPD will govern.

Plans available for Retirees Age 65 and Over (Enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B)*
 
  • Prescription Benefit through UnitedHealthcare Optum Rx
Early Retirees Under Age 65 (Not Enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B)*
 
  • Kaiser Permanente (HMO) and Kaiser Permanente Drug (Rx) Plan
  • UnitedHealthcare (HMO) and OptumRx Drug (Rx) Plan

If residing outside of the HMO service areas covered by the SC IBEW-NECA Health Trust Fund:

  • Out of Area Plan through UnitedHealthcare
  • Prescription Benefit through Out of Area - UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Program
Member Assistance Program for Early Retirees Under Age 65
 
  • Member Assistance Program (MAP): covers all eligible participants and members of their household.

Open Enrollment
 

The open enrollment period is generally held during the months of October and November, with Plan changes effective January 1. You will be notified each year of the annual open enrollment period. If you make a change, you will receive confirmation in writing of the changes made and their effective date.

*Enrollment in Medicare Parts A & B is required either when the retiree or spouse becomes age 65 or eligible for Medicare at any age.
