IMPORTANT NOTICE TO RETIREES ABOUT THE MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN

September 2015

Dear Retiree:

One of the medical options available under the Retiree Health Plan is known as the “Medicare Supplement Plan.” Under the Medicare Supplement Plan, Medicare Retirees and their eligible spouses can receive a reimbursement for their annual Medicare deductibles, as well as 20% of the charges not covered by Medicare, up to $2,500 per calendar year for each retiree and $2,500 per calendar year for each eligible spouse. In addition, if a retiree and eligible spouse is enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Plan, the retiree and eligible spouse receive prescription drugs through the Mandatory Generic Prescription Drug Plan. Claim forms and proper documentation required for reimbursement through the Medicare Supplement Plan are sent to Allied Fund Administrators, Inc., an ATPA Company, for processing.

However, beginning January 1, 2016, the Medicare Supplement Plan will be closed to retirees and their eligible spouses who are enrolled in one of the Retiree Health Plan options other than the Medicare Supplement Plan (Kaiser, UnitedHealthCare, or the Out of Area Retiree Plan) or who first become covered under the Retiree Health Plan on or after that date. Retirees and their eligible spouses who are enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Plan on January 1, 2016 will continue to be enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Plan until such time as another plan option is selected during the open enrollment period offered by the Retiree Health Plan.
