9. WHAT PENSION OPTIONS DO I HAVE IF I AM NOT MARRIED?
- Normal Form Pension (see Answer 8E above). If you die before receiving the guaranteed 60 months of benefits, the balance of the 60 months will be paid to your Designated Beneficiary.
- Social Security Adjustment Form (see Answer 8F above). There is no 60-month guarantee, so benefits would stop with your death.
- If you have a Registered Domestic Partner, you may elect to receive your pension in the Contingent Annuitant Option where your Registered Domestic Partner is your beneficiary. You will receive a reduced benefit for your lifetime. If you die before your Domestic Partner, 50% of your reduced pension will be payable for the lifetime of the Domestic Partner.
Articles 5.2, 5.3(c), 5.6 and 8.2 in the Pension Plan document provide additional details on options for unmarried participants.
