Information for Participants About the Delta Dental Data Security Incident
On July 12, 2023, the Southern California IBEW-NECA Health Trust Fund ("Health Plan") learned that Delta Dental of California ("Delta"), one of the dental providers of the Health Plan, experienced a data security incident that impacted personal information of participants and their dependents enrolled in Delta. Upon learning of the incident, Delta immediately began an investigation and engaged data privacy and information security professionals to assist with determining what happened. The Health Plan is currently working with Delta to notify all impacted Health Plan participants enrolled in Delta. Delta has confirmed their 3rd party vendor, Kroll, commenced mailing letters to all those involved on December 14, 2023, and further stated that due to the volume of members impacted, Kroll will be sending the letters in batches, a process that is expected to take a number of weeks.
The notification letter contains information regarding the data security incident and instructions about how to enroll in complimentary identity monitoring services. We encourage impacted Health Plan participants to enroll in these complimentary services.
For more information about Kroll and the identity monitoring services, you can visit info.krollmonitoring.com. If you prefer to activate these services offline and receive monitoring alerts via the US Postal Service, you may activate via Kroll's automated phone system by calling 1-888-653-0511, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central time, excluding major U.S. holidays. Please have your membership number located in your letter ready when calling. Please note that to activate monitoring services, you will be required to provide your name, date of birth, and Social Security number through the automated phone system.
