Plan Notices

  • Notice to Travelers Regarding Defined Benefit Plan Contributions (May 2014) — The Pension Protection Act of 2006, as amended by the Worker, Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 (WRERA), required the Trustees of a multiemployer pension plan, that has been certified by the plan's actuary as being in "endangered" status (Yellow Zone), to develop a Funding Improvement Plan ("FIP"). On September 28, 2012, the Southern California IBEW-NECA Pension Trust Fund's Co-Actuaries certified the Defined Benefit (DB) Plan as being in endangered status. On May 21, 2013, the Board of Trustees adopted an FIP consisting of a Default Schedule, Alternative Schedules 1(a) through 1(d); the FIP was amended twice to adopt two additional Alternative Schedules 1(e) and 1(f).
  • Notice to Travelers Regarding Defined Benefit Plan Contributions (Feb 2013) — On October 20, 2009, the Board of Trustees adopted a Rehabilitation Plan consisting of a Default Schedule, Alternative Schedule 1 and Alternative Schedule 2. The contributing employers and the membership of the IBEW Local Unions participating in the Southern California IBEW-NECA Pension Plan (Local Unions 11, 440, 441 and 477) entered into Alternative Schedule 2 of the Rehabilitation Plan.
