To the Summary Plan Description of the Southern California IBEW-NECA Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund As Of January 1, 2015
Dear Participant:
Please be advised that the temporary increased benefit that began on April 1, 2020 will end June 30, 2020. Effective July 1, 2020 the weekly benefit will return to its standard rate of $24.00 per week, as provided in the Summary Plan Description.
Applications that fulfill the eligibility requirements while the temporary rates were in effect will be paid retroactively at the appropriate rate covered during the claim period.

This Amendment to the Southern California IBEW-NECA Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund Summary Plan Description, for Inside Wiremen, Intelligent Transportation and Inspectors effective as of January 1, 2015, is made by the Board of Trustees of the Southern California IBEW-NECA Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund ("Board of Trustees") with reference to the following facts and circumstances.
The Board of Trustees has reserved to themselves the ability to amend the Plan from time to time.
- The Board of Trustees wishes to amend the Summary Plan Description to reflect a temporary increase in the maximum weekly benefits for the months of April, May and June 2020, as set forth in the second paragraph of the BENEFITS Section, at page 5, as follows:
- Journeymen – The Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund benefit is increased from $4.80 per each weekday to $60.00 per each weekday to a maximum of $300.00 per week; and
- Apprentices – The Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund benefit is increased from $4.80 per each weekday to $40.00 per each weekday to a maximum of $200.00 per week.
NOW THEREFORE, the second paragraph of the BENEFITS Section, at page 5 of the Summary Plan Description, is amended temporarily, effective for claims submitted on or after April 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020, to read as follows:
- The Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund benefit for an eligible Journeyman Participant is $60.00 per each weekday the Journeyman Participant has actually received unemployment compensation benefits to a maximum of $300.00 per week; and
- The Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Trust Fund benefit for an eligible Apprentice Participant is $40.00 per each weekday the Apprentice Participant has actually received unemployment compensation benefits to a maximum of $200.00 per week.
The benefit is paid in arrears after filing of an appropriate application.
All other terms and conditions of the Plan shall remain in full force and effect.
