About 24 million people in the U.S. have diabetes. One fourth of them don't know they have the disease. And 57 million more people have pre-diabetes. Studies show that many people with pre-diabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within the next 10 years. The message is clear: diabetes is a dangerous disease that affects a lot of people.

6/17/2011 - Prescription Solutions: Drug Safety Alert
On June 8, 2011, the FDA announced safety label changes for the cholesterol-lowering medication simvastatin because the highest approved dose of 80 mg has been associated with an elevated risk of myopathy (muscle injury), particularly during the first 12 months of use. There are also new contraindications and/or dose limitations of simvastatin when used with certain medications.
